Easter holds an odd distinction. On one hand, it’s the most important holiday for the world’s largest religion. Yet, somehow it still manages to fly under the radar.
In part, that’s because it (thankfully) hasn’t become as commercialized as Christmas. Nor does it beckon you to travel like Thanksgiving. Throw in its curious habit of roaming around on the calendar, and you’ve got a holiday that can sneak right up on you.
If that’s you this year, don’t feel guilty. I’ve been there. And hey, with two weeks left, you’ve got plenty of time to prepare to meet the risen Jesus.
Regular readers know I made a psalm prayer calendar that walks you right up to Resurrection Sunday. And since I took a break from writing a full post this weekend, I thought I’d point to it again.
You can also download the calendar as a pdf:
The goal is not to read or pray through each of the psalms listed for the day. Rather, skim them and choose one that resonates with you. Once you’ve found it, read through slowly, pausing from time to time to pray in response to what you’ve read.
And there you have it! Like I said, I’m keeping this one short. That way, if you can’t find time to pray a psalm today, well, at least you won’t have me to blame!
Or, if you happen to have some time on your hands, you could catch up on any of the psalm posts that you missed along the way.
Either way, have a blessed week!
