I’m in a Rocky Mountain town now (Pagosa Springs) and have had some of these aspirations as well, so I understand your desire to have these things (garden, chickens, etc) though I want them at this point in my life (certain circumstances) I am happy with looking forward to the return of Jesus and being able to pray šŸ™ often as I still work for myself

Amen! To those who fry their brains with endless data that are only marginally meaningful, physical work brings peace, solace, and contentment. I always give thanks when I water my garden. The Lord makes it productive.

To gardening, I would add one more physical practice that we have allowed to lapse in our culture: cooking. Same contentment. Similar contribution to our physical well-being. Same opportunity to give thanks for the love that is showered on us.
